Check a trade licence
Use the official regulator for the state or territory where the work will be done. Home Triage does not check or endorse individual businesses.
What to check
Ask for the business name and relevant licence number. Check the current status, permitted work and any listed conditions, and match the details to the quote. Contact the regulator if the record is unclear. A register entry does not guarantee availability, price or quality.
These are starting points, not a complete directory of every regulated occupation. Engineers, pest operators and refrigeration specialists may need separate checks. Ask the relevant authority which credentials apply to your job; an ABN alone is not a trade licence.

Compare the scope of your quotes →Match the authorisation to the work
Pesticide treatment, wildlife handling and refrigerant work use different authorisations. The state links above are official starting points, not a determination of which licence or permit your job requires. Check the person, business, activity and any conditions with the relevant authority. A pest-control licence does not by itself establish permission to handle protected wildlife.

ARC: check a refrigerant-handling licence and its scope ↗
The ARC result identifies licence status and type. Also check any electrical, plumbing or building credentials relevant to the proposed work with your state regulator.
